Matt & Alberto Moralo-Langan
Thank you for joining my fundraiser in support of Make-A-Wish International.
*18th April Update*
Hi all, myself and Alberto just wanted to say thank you one final time for your kind and generous donations. With hard work we managed to reach Base Camp last week! Your contributions really helped to motivate us when the going got tough. Feel free to check out our blog posts & pics from the trek - https://mattld.travellerspoint.com.
All the best, Matt & Alberto x
Every year, thousands of children battle a life-threatening illness such as leukemia. The Make-A-Wish Foundation aims to grant the wish of every eligible child to to create an unforgettable memory. Popular children's wishes range from a visit to a theme park, sporting event or concert to seeing snow for the first time or being able to go on a family holiday.
Through generous donors and more than 45,000 volunteers they have collectively granted more than 480,000 wishes worldwide since 1980. However, Make-A-Wish still has many children to reach and cannot grant wishes without us.
To help this cause we would love to raise as much money as we can by trekking up 2,745 metres to the Mount Everest Base Camp (5,545m above sea level). 100% of all money raised will go directly to the Make-A-Wish International Foundation. This is a 130km twelve day hike which will be no easy task given the altitude so we're equally nervous and excited for it. Over the past two months we've been mountain trekking and training in a simulated high altitude facility to try and get prepared. We depart Kathmandu for Base Camp on the 3rd April and will be sharing photos and progress here: mattld.travellerspoint.com
We’re grateful for any donations no matter how small the amount as it all adds up. Thanks in advance for your consideration!
